Criticism Appertaining To Books Forgiven (Firstborn #2)
All right, all right...I know how dumb it is to rate a first book in a series as 1 star and then go on to read the next. What can I say? The second book happened to be on the new books at the library so I decided to give it another shot. I have to say that I'm not impressed with the writing in this series (the first I've read by Kingsbury). The characters, scenarios and conversations just don't ring true at all...

I really like all the Baxter series that I've read so far (Redemption Series #1-5 & now the first two of the Firstborn series). The author does a great job of showing how a person's decisions affect not only themselves but others as well. I like how when she chooses a theme for a book--not just one character goes through a lesson on this theme so do others--sometimes a whole group of people. Like in this book#2 the theme was about forgiveness. MANY people had to learn about this topic from

Karen is just messing with my feelings and shes so good at that. But shes also kind of cruel. My point is: this book/this series might not be like the greatest or finest piece of literature out there and the translation definitely wasnt one of the bests, but the way the author managed to express the characters feelings and how she put things head to head its amazing. Im so curious about how things will fall into place eventually and Im sure its going to be awesome and not what I expected. And

Another A+ for Karen!!!

Excellent book that allows you to see that no matter what we've done in our past, God is always willing and open to grant us forgiveness. All we have to do is humbly ask him and he will give it to us freely. Our future begins with forgiving ourselves for our past and allowing God to give us the peace that can only be found in him..Powerful message!

I return to this series when I need a wholesome break from contemporary literary fiction with all of its dysfunction and navel-gazing. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I relate much more to these normal characters trying to live good lives than to many of the characters in the books featured in the NY Times Book Review. These books are clean soap operas - pure escapism.

Forgiven 4⭐Dayne is finding peace and forgiveness through Gods word and in church. Katy is putting on a new show of Annie for the CKT. Ashley and Landon are - well its a spoiler but it made my heart so happy! So cute and cant wait to continue the series!
