In this breathtaking novel, rich in history and adventure, #1 New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon continues the story of Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser that started with the now-classic novel Outlander and continued in Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager. Once again spanning continents and centuries, Gabaldon has created a work of sheer brilliance. What if you knew someone you loved was going to die? What if you thought you could save them? How much would you risk to try?
Claire Randall has gone to find Jamie Fraser, the man she loved more than life, and has left half her heart behind with their daughter, Brianna. Claire gave up Jamie to save Brianna, and now Bree has sent her mother back to the Scottish warrior who was willing to give his life to save them both. But a chilling discovery in the pages of history suggests that Jamie and Claire's story doesn't have a happy ending.
Brianna dares a terrifying leap into the unknown in search of her mother and the father she has never met, risking her own future to try to change history . . . and to save their lives. But as Brianna plunges into an uncharted wilderness, a heartbreaking encounter may strand her forever in the past . . . or root her in the place she should be, where her heart and soul belong.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ ! A devastating notification in a newspaper from 1776 forces Brianna to leave her own time and travel back 200 years to try to find and warn her mother and the father shes never met, having no idea they have left Scotland for the new world. A decision that will come to cause a ripple effect no one could have foreseen.Drums of Autumn was a fantastic read. It's easily my new favorite installment in the Outlander s series since the epic first book and the first half of Voyager. A magnificent4.5/5 STARS!!I finally finished my first book for 2016!!! This book took me a little over 3 weeks to finish and I LOVED IT! I knew picking this book up, it was definitely going to take me awhile to finish it and I was ok with that. It has been over a year since I had read book 3 in this series, but I as soon as I started up with Drums of Autumn I felt like it was only few weeks since I had been in the world of Jamie and Claire. Honestly I could have done without the first 300 pages ... it just
This book was the final straw for me. I wanted to love this whole series as I loved book one, but it has gotten progressively worse with every book, in my humble opinion. Ms. Gabaldon's editors should be taking a much closer look at the arc, plot, and character development for inconsistency and redundancy. The first book was amazing, though the ending was very difficult to swallow. The second was very good, compelling but heartbreaking. The third starts to teeter on unnecessarily verbose with a

4.5 stars rounded up. I finally finished this freaking book!!! I initially started it on May 23, 2015!!! (I took a lot of breaks and started over twice)I am very surprised to say that this is my favorite installment of Outlander so far. I'm surprised because I really struggled with feeling engaged for the first 100 pages or so. (Hence why I started and stopped a few times.) What frustrates me and so many others about Gabaldon's work is that there is so much detail at times that it makes it
Another re-read of 2018, there is definitely a lot to love about Drums of Autumn even after all these years. Now that Claire and Jamie are reunited and in America, a whole set of new and exciting adventures and new characters await one of my favorite literary couples. Claire and Jamie have spent 20 years apart and have never really had the chance to be a couple in a marriage. So I think it's definitely a gift of the latter books that we see them actually have a change to "settle down."Another
Wow! I loved the ending of this book. I especially loved the birth scene. It was funny, touching, and made me cry. Finally! Jamie has a grandson that's truly his own. Someone to help make up for the loss he's suffered in being denied the opportunity raise his own children. If anyone deserves lots of grand-babies, it's Jamie. I love Lord John in this book. He kinda became my hero. Shocking, I know, considering how much I disliked him in the last book. He's charming, witty, and very sweet in this
