Classic Murakami. I have read most of his collection and consider myself a keen fan of his writing. This epic is a touch above most though, it's part thriller, part love story and easily draws you into classic Murakami surrealism. Not to mention a 100% page turner. I've dived straight into the 3rd book in this trilogy without drawing breath.I finished reading 1Q84 (surely the blockbuster novel of 2011) almost a week ago, but I wanted to collect my thoughts before I put fingers to keyboard. This is a novel (sounds trite, perhaps epic would be a better word) that remains with you for a long, long time after reading it. Ive kept thinking about the story and how each event fits in the overall structure of the book, how clever and intricate the world created is and how I can picture in my head a world that doesnt existor does it?The ARC
This is a highly interesting story in all sense of the word and I cannot think how to begin to describe all of the feelings I encountered whilst reading this. This was my first Murakami read and I have to confess I knew next to nothing about it, or him, or George Orwell's 1984 which is referenced a lot in this novel, however despite these challenges I did end up really enjoying the entire two books and I will certainly be picking up book 3 when I can to find out how it all draws to a close.The

I finished 1Q84 - book 1 & 2 on Monday. Afterwards, I went running in the woods. I ran faster than I have in a while, and my thoughts went back and forth through my head, thinking of everything, anything and nothing at all. It then came to me, I was stuck in that world, Murakami's world. I was scared. I ran through the woods in the middle of the day, and felt scared. Figured the people I met could be anything. Like in Murakami's universe. And I thought that if I'd met a bear, I wouldn't have
Even though it is a long story(and i dont prefer them) i found it very interesting. The way that the characters are build from scratch and the way the story expands keep your interest intense all the way.I really enjoy it..
