Sanderson took the reins in his hands and he did a great job of pushing things forward. Egwene, Rand, and Matrim were the prominent characters in this book but this is clearly Egwene's story and how she mend the White Tower. She has come a long way from a teenager to being one of most power Aes Sedai. I was not a fan of her prior to this book but she won me over in this. I looked forward to every page, couldn't decide on my favorite character and couldn't wait for the next book. That changed as the series went on.
